Be Like Roy Kent
Roy Kent, one of the most popular characters on the hit show Ted Lasso, was a superstar soccer player. He was adored by his fans and reveled in his fame and abilities.
He was getting older, as we all do, and he injured his knee in a game that put an end to his soccer career. He was forced to retire from the game. Does the story sound familiar so far? Maybe something similar has happened to you.
He wandered in an emotional wilderness without purpose or recognition until he discovered new gifts that he could put to use in service of his own ego, but more importantly in service to the success of others. He walked back onto the field as a coach.
Are you playing a different game in retirement or hanging on to the one you used to be good at?
How could you use your gifts as a coach or mentor?
